What is KILL the PAST?

Think of incidents in your life that you wished never occurred.
Wouldn’t you wish to erase that past from your memory?
If said past is detested, then killing the past would erase it from existence.

“Kill the Past” is a loosely connected series of videogames revolving around the lives of individuals who are in conflict with their pasts. The purpose of this editorial is to give you a basic outline of the series. For a more in depth look at the games, you can refer back to their Analysis pages.

The chronology of this metaseries can be very confusing, especially considering that most GHM games include references or continuity nods to each other.
To make things simpler, I decided to separate the main entries in three broad eras.
This chronology is based on in-game dates, official complementary materials such as guidebooks and fanbooks and the Silver Case timeline posted on the official website.
More often than not, each game takes place in or close to its release year. 
Keep in mind that there is also a variety of ancillary materials that were written by either Suda Goichi himself, or long time collaborator Ooka Masahi, and could be considered canonical. I will be covering those in the Merchandise section.

There is also a number of other Grasshopper Manufacture games that contain references to KTP games.
Though it must be noted that they lack a strong narrative connection to those titles and their storylines do not necessairly revolve around an overt theme of ‘killing the past’, as such, I listed them as separate games.
These games may or may not be canon to the main timeline, point is, even if they were they’d be mostly irrelevant to the ongoing plot. You may think of them as isolated episodes if you’re so inclined. I personally don’t feel their narratives are interesting enough to analyze in-depth.
(The dates indicated here, save for Let it Die, are release dates. I’m pretty sure none of these other games are actually dated in-game.)
