This is a promotional booklet released in Japan in order to advertise the original PSX release of The Silver Case.
I was unaware of its existance until it was scanned and archived by this VK page. As an inept westerner I am completely flabbergasted when it comes to using VK, so I hope my linking to the page is enough to put credit where credit is due.
Here’s a PDF copy of the same booklet, though I am not sure if it comes from the same source or not.
Manual and Booklet
To coincide with the release of the HD version of The Silver Case, distributor Playism took the time to translate the booklets included in the original PSX release. While the boxed PC copy came with these two booklets included, they were also released digitally for free on the game’s store page.
Not many people are aware of them, so I’m mirroring them here.
The playing manual includes a useful character relations chart, which also happens to contain the first appearence of both Sundance Shot and Daizaburo Kai (who would later go on to appear in Flower, Sun and Rain), with another mysterious character, the Mulholland President Marionette Mother, who has never showed up in any of the games. From her title, however, it might be inferred that she was a key player in the Shelter Children Policy (the entrance to the underground Shelters, is situated behind the Mulholland tobacco shop).
It also happens to include the first mention of Death-filing, which would later be expanded in the 25th Ward and which Suda would explain in his Q&A on the original TSC website.
The Booklet originally detailed all the puzzle solutions for the actual game. The HD version actually has a button to auto-solve all the puzzles, making it superfluous. It also includes some commentary from Hiroyuki Nakata (Editor-in-Chief of GameWatch!) and an explanation of the titular Silver Case.
Original TSC Website
The original Silver Case website, ran by Sagara Nobuhiko, contained a number of editorials, character profiles, Q&A and other interesting content related to the world of The Silver Case.
The website unfortunately does not exist anymore but it has been archived on the wayback machine. I personally find it quite hard to navigate since some of the layout is broken and most of the images are missing; Therefore I compiled all the relevant content right here.
Silver Maniax Part 1: A list of all the words that are passing in the background during the Transmitter chapters.
Silver Maniax Part 2: All the song titles that are shown at the end of each chapter.
Silver Maniax Part 3: The Mother Goose rhymes referenced in the third placebo chapter.

Timeline of the 24th Ward (this was updated and translated for the new website)
We are planning to eventually fund a translation for this content. To learn more about it visit our translations thread.
New TSC Website
While not as rich in content as the original website from the early 2000s, the modern day rendition of The Silver Case’s webpage still includes some interesting content; namely, a replica of the Kamuinet website from the Kamuidrome chapter, and a timeline of the 24th ward which in itself is an updated and translated version of the old one.
You can visit the official website here.
Here’s a link to an archived version in case the original ever goes down.
Original Parade Artwork
Some of you might not be aware that the artwork for the Parade chapter had to be redrawn for the HD version of the game, possibly due to a loss of the original high resolution drawings. As a result, the artstyle for the chapter in question ended up being quite different, and there is no in-game option to switch between the two. In case you ever wondered how the original chapter looked, you can see it here.
