Wall E
Directed By Andrew Stanton
Wall E is the newest movie from the animation studio Pixar. We all know them because they made the first ever fully Computer Animated (CG) feature length film, Toy Story. Well as a kid I loved Toy Story, but none of Pixar's other films have really GRABBED me. I remember nothing from A Bug's Life, Monster's Inc. was cool, Toy Story 2 was...a sequel, Cars was ok but not amazing. I haven't seen Ratatouille, and I really don't like Finding Nemo.
Oddly enough I really liked Wall E. And even more odd is the fact that Andrew Stanton who directed Finding Nemo also directed Wall E. I guess he felt it neccessary to apologize to me for not liking his last film. Haha.
Wall E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter - Earth Class) is about a little robot whose entire existence is this. Pick up trash and organize it (clean up Earth basically). He does it extremely well. In the opening of the film we see what look like strange mountainous shapes that are actually monstrouly huge trash piles. Wall E grabs some junk, shoves it in his stomach of sorts, and makes it into a neat little square kind of like a car masher. He seems to be the ONLY living creature on Earth except for a friend of his, a cockroach. Even other Wall E's are all dead as he goes about his daily business.
One day he sees a laser on the ground and chases after it as it moves all around the ground. It turns out it's just landing sensors from a space ship. The ship leaves a white robot behind. Wall E begins to follow the white robot. It is here and in a few scenes before it that we are REALLY taken in by the amazing spectacle that is Wall E's world.
Let me back up a bit. It's the year 2815, and Earth is decimated. The remaining humans are on a shipped called Axiom. They originally left Earth on what was to be a short, vacation-like cruise, but ended up staying out in space for over 700 years since something has destroyed all life on the planet.
Every person is a fat, disgusting blob of a human and everyone is pampered beyond belief. Food is all made into a drinkable, shake form, and no one really seems to do much of anything. The ship is run by a megacorporation named BnL which stands for BuyNLarge. The message for all of society is sit back, relax, and consume. This sounds very steep for a kids movie but...well maybe it should be.
Wall E ends up on the Axiom (I won't say how) and ends up looking for Eve (the white robot). Wall E is one of extremely few movies where almost the ENTIRE film is without dialogue. Of course the humans talk and there's some big important scenes as the film progresses, but the majority is left unspoken. And I'm very glad for it. Having Wall E and Eve talk constantly would've destroyed the wonder and beauty that is this film.
It's been a long time since I've seen such a wonderful, science fiction film. This movie is spectacular. Since there's little dialogue, the only real thing to see is spectacle, and boy what a view! This film looks amazing and the art direction here is by FAR the best I've ever seen in any Pixar film. I would be incredibly shocked if this film doesn't win any academy awards. It's not 2001: A Space Oddessy or anything but the visuals are wonderful. The story invovles tons of flying and running around, but is still interesting. The Axiom is a wonderful ship, and the messages it sends to its citizens is made clear through advertisements, or the police-like state with robots instead of people as the law.
The literal human story is insignificant to the story between the two robots, Wall E and Eve. It's odd that this film sends such an ANTI-consumerist message seeing as how it's a Disney film. If you like previous Pixar movies, you'll like this. If you love science fiction films, then this will leave you with a big smile on your face.
This film is a wonderful (even if the message isn't original) picture, and if you can leave your adult side at the door, and lighten yourself up, you'll have a wonderful time watching this film. This is not only one of the best science fiction films I've seen in a long time, but is also one of the best films I've seen this year. GO SEE IT! You'll have a WONDERFUL time!
I give this film
[5/5]
It was awesome. I don't care if you are into "kiddie" movies or not, this film really stands out above the MOUNDS UPON MOUNDS of kiddie trash being put out these days. This film rises above the pack and is really a standout achievement not just among children's films but good science fiction films in general within the past few years. Go see this one.

ILLegal Alien: Jedi Link of USA.
Of all the muthafuckas in the world, he's the muthafuckest.
This one is a bizarre case. Some places he fits in, others he stands out. No matter where you find him, he'll always be the same guy as he never puts up a facade for any reason. A filmmaker on the rise he has a vast knowledge of useless garbage. If it's in a movie he's seen it. Thanks to the internet he's seen worse. This one is severely scarred by an incomprehension of how retarded people can be. Generally a loner, he knows few, those few don't always support him so he stands on his own.
He is relentless in his pursuit as a filmmaker and refuses to be left out of a business he wants to see improve. He also has ADD which explains the somewhat "all over" nature of his own description.
